How accounts, signatures, the live count, and sharing work, and what this campaign publishes.

Effective November 2, 2026.

Read without an account

Every guide and daylight comparison is available without signing in. The site requests no device location and runs no analytics or outside advertising scripts.

Signing is separate from registration

Firebase Authentication stores your email and password credential. Creating an account does not sign the campaign. After verifying your email, you may explicitly agree to the displayed permanent-DST statement and confirm you are 18 or older. One signature is allowed per verified-email account. This is not independent identity verification; one person can have multiple email addresses.

What is stored

Your private signature record stores your first name, last initial, optional city selection, age confirmation, signature consent, statement version, server time and visibility preferences. Only your signed-in account can read that record through the website. Authorized Firebase project operators can administer stored records; security rules do not restrict project administrators.

A public record contains the signing time and, only when you opt in, a first name with last initial and a city. The record identifier is the account’s opaque Firebase user ID, which is observable in public database responses; the rendered list omits it. Email addresses are never stored in public signature records. Publicly shared names and cities can be copied by other visitors, so leave visibility unchecked if you prefer not to publish them.

Count and recent signatures

The displayed count comes from a Firestore aggregate of public signature records. It is a timestamped snapshot, not a continuously live total. The recent list reads at most 25 records. Refresh updates both; there is no continuous collection-wide listener or polling. Count and list reads occur separately, so concurrent changes may briefly differ.

Email updates

The separate mailing-list choice starts unchecked. If you opt in, your account email is also saved on your private signature record with that preference. This site does not send a campaign mailing today. Uncheck the preference to remove the email from that record; the login email remains with Authentication until you delete your account.

Export, withdrawal and deletion

While signed in, Download my signature data exports your private signature and account email as JSON. Withdraw my signature removes both public and private signature records together while retaining the login. Delete my account requires your current password and explicit deletion confirmation, then removes the signature and login. Previously copied public information cannot be recalled from other people’s copies.

TikTok video

The campaign video does not load a TikTok player automatically. Clicking Load TikTok video or following Watch on TikTok connects to TikTok, which can process your IP address, device information, cookies and viewing activity under TikTok’s privacy policy. No autoplay is requested.

Advertising

First-party banners are labeled Advertisement. No paid advertiser or outside ad network is active, and these banners currently generate no advertising revenue. They do not collect personal data or affect civic actions.

Sharing, hosting and contact

Campaign links may include nonpersonal city, date, display-mode and UTM parameters. Sharing is handled by your browser or operating system. Firebase Hosting and Authentication may process network/security information to operate the service. For a correction or an account problem, contact the campaign operator. Do not send passwords.
